In April 2011 Aerogeophysica Inc. was flying airborne magnetics at super low flight altitudes, with goal to estimate possibility of this method for detection of old unexpoded shells from II World War time.

As the search targets the iron pigs with weight of 10 – 25 kg have been used. The survey was flown along parallel lines with line spacing 50 m. It was found, that reliable magnetometer data on these targets can be obtained at flight altitudes of 15 m above Earth surface.
