Data Processing and Interpretation

Unlike other Russian services companies, Aerogeophysica includes among common set of delivery products complete report on results of geological-geophysical interpretation of obtained survey data. The developed by Aerogeophysica interpretation methods can be applied to wide range of exploration tasks.

These methods depend on both peculiarities of measurement technologies and properties of survey targets:
rapid data acquisition;
3D measurement environment, excepting airborne gravity which carried out on fixed altitude;
multi-channel data acquisition;
lack of a prior geological-geophysical information;
high accuracy of aircraft positioning.

3D model of Luemba kimberlite pipe, featuring low magnetization. Angola, 2004.

These survey specifics result in a set of general requirements for airborne data interpretation.
1. In most cases the results of airborne geophysics are used for the post survey detailed ground geological-geophysical works, and required for airborne data interpretation time should be comparable with the time required for the survey itself. Consequently, interpretation procedures must be substantially automated and unified.
2. The interpretation methods must be available without sufficient background information.
3. The lack of such information may be compensated with complex interpretation of different data bases.
4. In many cases, when interpreter works with insufficient geological information on area of interest, interpretation methods are focused on both regional geological tasks and delineation of local perspective geological bodies.
