Geophysicist (data processing and interpretation)

University degree in geophysics or geology and geophysics (magnetic prospecting, electromagnetic surveying, gravimetry, radiometry).
Advanced PC user skills.
Proficiency in geophysical data interpretation methodology.

Substantial experience in developing software for interfacing with external devices and recording incoming data on system storage media (FAT32) for the x86 platform under DOS and Windows XP (MFC, WinAPI).
Excellent command of C, C++ and assembly language (x86).
Thorough understanding of the physical and logical principles of data exchange between PCs and external/embedded devices over RS232/422/485 and Ethernet interfaces. Experience with or knowledge of USB (CDC, MSD) and PCI interfaces is an additional advantage.
Proficiency in tools for developing graphical visualisations of real-time processes (dynamic charts, spectra and indicators).
Confident command of English (reading documentation, business correspondence and spoken communication).
Experience in writing operating documentation and built-in Help.

Thorough knowledge of analogue and digital electronics and switching power supplies (DC-DC).
Proficiency in a software package for electronic circuit and printed circuit board design.
Skills in using mechanical design software.
Comprehensive knowledge of DOS and Windows XP operating systems, their configuration and system command/scripting languages. Knowledge of any programming language is an advantage.
Thorough knowledge of the physical and logical principles of data transmission/reception over RS232/422/485, Ethernet, USB (CDC, MSD) and PCI interfaces.
Extensive knowledge of modern electronic components and basic knowledge of modern microcontrollers and programmable logic.
Extensive experience and skills in installing/removing modern electronic components, excellent soldering skills and the ability to perform associated mechanical fitting work.
Confident command of English (reading documentation, business correspondence and spoken communication). Knowledge of other foreign languages is an advantage.
A driving licence and at least three years of actual driving experience. Experience of driving abroad is an advantage.
Experience with PC-based data acquisition systems.

P.S. Experience with OEM GPS receivers and any airborne avionics equipment is particularly welcome.

University degree in “Geology, Prospecting and Exploration of Mineral Deposits”.
At least 3 years of professional experience in the speciality.
Experience in field mapping and predictive exploration work.
Experience in contributing to reports.
Experience in interpreting geophysical data.
Proficiency in GIS technologies.
