An integrated airborne geophysical survey at 1:50,000 in the Nerunda–Mama area (Nerunda–Mama gold district, Republic of Buryatia) has been completed. The work was commissioned by FSBI VSEGEI to assess the area’s mineral potential.
The airborne geophysical suite comprised aeromagnetometry, airborne electromagnetic surveying and airborne gamma-ray spectrometry. Since part of the area is mountainous, with elevations from 500 m to 1880 m, the survey used a Mi-8AMT helicopter in the mountainous sector and an An-3 aircraft in the lowland sector to optimise aviation costs. Integrated interpretation of the acquired data will provide an assessment of the area’s prospectivity and identify zones prospective for lode gold.
