The Russian Geological Society (ROSGEO) has developed “Methodological Recommendations for Airborne Geophysical Support of Predictive Studies and Mineral Prospecting”
The document draws on experience accumulated by the country’s leading enterprises in conducting this type of work. Its preparation was necessitated by current economic conditions, changes in instrumentation specifications, and the need and rationale for integrating different methods in mineral prediction and prospecting, taking into account the predominant shift of operations to inaccessible areas in search of concealed mineralisation.
The recommendations were approved by the Mineral Resources and Licensing Section of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Federal Agency for Mineral Resources, and recommended for use as a regulatory document in planning and conducting predictive studies and prospecting financed from the federal budget and by subsoil users (Minutes No. 04-17/1-пр of 25 January 2023).
